Whether enjoyed as a quick lunch on the go or savored as a hearty meal, the Cubano with pernil never fails to satisfy with its bold flavors and satisfyingly comforting appeal. Each bite is a delicious reminder of the rich culinary heritage of Cuba, making it a beloved favorite among sandwich enthusiasts worldwide.

Ingredients

  • Cuban bread or ciabatta, enough for 4 sandwiches & sliced lengthwise
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp Noshejan Lobo Rojo Adobo
  • 16 oz Noshejan Pernil
  • 16 oz honey-roasted ham slices
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 dill pickles, thinly sliced
  • Yellow deli mustard
  • Sriracha for serving

 

Instructions

Combine 2 tbsp butter and Noshejan Lobo Rojo Adobo. Mix well. Spread on the inside of the bottom slice of bread.

On the bottom slice, add the pernil, then the ham, Swiss cheese, and dill pickles in that order.

Generously spread the mustard on the inside of the top slice of bread. Place on top of the sandwich.

Spread the remaining butter on the top and bottom of the sandwich.

Heat a grill pan over medium heat (or use a panini maker). Grill for 5 minutes per side, pressing down on the sandwich with a cast iron press or a heat-proof plate to press the sandwich.

Remove from heat and allow to rest for 2 minutes. Serve hot and with Sriracha if preferred.
