Craving something crispy, juicy, and absolutely delicious? Homemade fried chicken is the perfect treat for your taste buds. Easy to make and impossible to resist, our fried chicken will quickly become a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 6 tbsp Noshejan Umami Unico

  • 18 drumsticks

  • 4 cups buttermilk

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 cup cornstarch

  • Peanut or canola oil

 

Instructions

Sprinkle the drumsticks generously with 2 tbsp Noshejan Umami Unico over and under the skin. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Add the buttermilk to the chicken and mix well. Cover and marinate in the fridge for at least two hours or overnight for juicier chicken.

When ready to fry the chicken, mix together the remaining Noshejan Umami Unico, flour, and cornstarch in a large mixing bowl.

Pour frying oil 1/2" high into a heavy-bottom pot and heat over medium-high, bringing the oil temperature up to 350°.

One drumstick at a time, allow excess buttermilk to drip off. Coat each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

Carefully add drumsticks to the hot oil. Do not crowd the chicken. Depending on the size of your pot, you may want to work in two batches. Cook for 8-10 minutes per side until the internal temperature is 165°.

Set aside each cooked drumstick on a cooling rack covered with a layer of paper towels. When all drumsticks are cooked, return to the oil for another minute of cooking. 

Return to fresh paper towels on the cooling rack. Sprinkle with Noshejan Umami Unico.
